U.S.M.C. MH-53E Sea Dragon
Sumatra, Indonesia, 24 January 2005 —
An MH-53E Sea Dragon delivers much needed supplies and materials to the residents of Sumatra, Indonesia. The helicopter and its crew are attached to Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron Fifteen (HM-15) aboard USS Essex (LHD 2). U.S. Marines and Navy Sailors aboard Essex are participating in Operation Unified Assistance, a multinational relief effort to bring food, water and medical care to those affected by the December 26, 2004, Indian Ocean tsunami.
